Hi Everyone!
I was asked by the lovely and talented Gracie Howle to join the Artists around the world blog hop! Everyone was asked to answer four questions. I am not someone who likes to talk about myself but I will give it my best!
Question 1
Why do you do what you do?
I can't remember a time when I didn't draw or make some kind of craft. My Mom always had stuff for me and my brothers to paint and my grandma owned a ceramic shop that we spent a lot of time in. I really miss that! I get bored easily and art is my go to. I love it! I need it! It is my getaway.
Question 2
How does your work differ from others of its genre?
I guess that it differs because of the medium I use? I love to mix acrylics and colored pencil which as far as I know most aren't doing. I have been told that I have a style that people recognize.
Question 3
How does your creative process work?
Good question :)
I think this depends on what I am in the mood for. I like to create things fast! Sometimes I might feel a little more ambitious and paint larger scale work but mostly I grab a piece of 4 x 6 watercolor paper, paint it with acrylics, draw a little lady on it and color. I don't really think to hard about it. Sometimes I will feel inspired by a picture or other art and try something like that. I have done more of that since joining Lifebook this year. The funnest art course I have ever taken by the way!
Question 4
What are you working on now?
Right now I am designing the Christmas board program for Penny Black Rubber Stamps. I have been with them for 12 years! I can only show you a little peek of what I am doing as it is top secret until after the paper crafters show later this month!
Here are some of the pieces I have done just recently!
Thank you so much everyone for stopping in and reading my post! Please be sure to head over to Gracie's blog and read her story!!
Have a great day!
Loved reading this Angela and hearing more about you! Your art is definitely unique to you and a style I recognise as yours. Your work is gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing :) Also loved hearing you're enjoying Life Book too of course ;) xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Gracie!!
ReplyDeleteHi Angela, I have been admiring your beautiful art on the willowing facebook group for a while now. I love your gorgeous girls you create. I loved reading about your creative process here. I also answered these same questions on my blog last week. It is great to see this chain reaction of around the world blog hops. I was invited by Minerva, who also invited Gracie, who has invited you. So much fun.
ReplyDeleteHi Angela
ReplyDeletelove your work!
Melody
Love your work and found it really interesting to read a bit more about your process! I really like the effect of the medium you work in and I didn't realise it was coloured pencils that create that soft look your work has.
